English translation of Japan’s ODA White Paper, an annual report
concerning the Official Development Assistance (ODA) of Japan, issued
by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Part I of the 2008 White Paper discusses Japan’s efforts to deal with the problem of climate change and the progress of the “Cool Earth Partnership,” and is entitled “Climate Change and Development”; Part II, “New Approaches to African Development,” explains Japan’s assistance for the independent development of Africa, an issue on which the attention of the world is being focused; Part III, “Official Development Assistance Disbursements in FY2007,” describes Japan’s ODA, specific efforts in ODA, and the topic of international trends in assistance and Japan, through a look at disbursements; Part IV presents charts of Japan’s ODA budget, ODA disbursements, lists of bilateral ODA projects in FY2007 and others.
